1981年，我校被国务院学位委员会批准为首批硕士学位授予单位；2006年，学校获批艺术学一级学科硕士学位授权点；2011年，The Academic Degrees Committee of The State Council shall adjust the catalogue of academic degrees conferring and personnel training disciplines，Art is separate from literature，It has been upgraded from a first-level discipline of art to a discipline category of art，In the same year, the university was granted four first-level master's authorized disciplines under the categories of Art Theory (1301), Drama and Film Science (1303), Fine Arts (1304) and Design Science (1305)。At present, the four first-level disciplines of our school are all key disciplines of Chongqing during the "13th Five-Year Plan". Among them, Fine Arts and Design were approved as the first-class disciplines of Chongqing during the "13th Five-Year Plan", and obtained the scores of Fine Arts A- and Design B+ in the results of the fourth round of discipline evaluation in 2017。
